Me and my friend, Jane bought one from their shop in Maginhawa. The quality is great and the "pocket" is made from tarpaulin-like material. The good thing about is is that it doesn't fade (well.. Yung akin hindi) it depends i guess in the way you handle your shirt. According to their site, they recommend Handwashing only.

This is a great gift for yourself, your family, couple tees or a gift for your whole barkada.

1000 inspirational quotes

Making gifts doesn't need to be costly. Here is a simple gift you could give your friend to inspire him/her everyday.

PROJECT: 1000 inspirational quotes

OCCASION: Birthday, Friendship Day, Christmas, New Year, Thank you gift

GIFT FOR: Friend/ Bestfriend

TIME TO PREPARE:  12-24 hours. Depends on how fast you could write and consider the fact that you also need to rest because writing and cutting is a bit exhausting. I recommend dividing the project and setting an hour or two each day for a week to finish the entire gift.

WHAT YOU NEED:
  • BondPaper/colored papers 30-50pcs
  • Scissors
  • Pen (plain black or colored)
  • Internet connection (to search for quotes)
  • Your phone/gadget
  • Box with ribbon - I bought mine at Papemelroti for Php49
  • (Optional) A piece of lined paper like yellow pad
TOTAL COST: around Php80-100

INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. Prepare the things you need. As well as your hands because writing quotes is really tiring. You have the option to print them but I think the main essence of this letter is on the effort of writing everything down as if you are telling them directly these inspirational messages.
  2. Using your phone, tablet or computer, search the internet for inspirational quotes, sayings or verses. You could visit sites and view quotes filtered per theme (e.g. love, Friends, God, Education) or search from google images.
  3. Write down whatever quote you like on the bond paper. You may place a piece of lined paper below your bondpaper to serve as a guide for proper spacing between quotes or to make sure your handwriting remains straight. Here is a pdf file of the first 300 quotes I wrote. WARNING: this step requires lots of time, patience and energy. Rest if you must. TIP: keep track of your progress by writing on a scratch paper the tally of the number of quotes you've written.
  4. Cut each quote and roll them. TIP: I find it easier to write everything first and start cutting once you feel tired of writing down the quotes and then start rolling when you feel tired again of cutting each piece. (Nakakaumay sya gawin, promise). I find it easier to do things in bulk rather than doing those 3 steps (write-cut-roll) after finishing each quote.
  5. Count everything and put them on your box. Add ribbon.
  6. You may put designs and a simple letter for the recepient of your gift.

SUMMARY:
Bondpaper/colored paper (30-50 leaves) - Php30 - available at bookstores
Box with ribbon - Php 49 - available at papemelroti shops. Visit their website for the list of branches and for more cart ideas.

WORST GIFTS EVER!

The main purpose why I wrote this blog is to share and feature gift ideas which people could give to their loved ones (Boyfriends, Girlfriends, Spouse, parents,etc.).
But first, I think It is important to make a guide of WHAT-NOT-TO-GIVE to make sure that the receiver won’t feel bad about your gift.
So I used facebook and conducted a little survey and asked them what are the Three worse gifts they don’t want to receive from their boyfriends or girlfriends. Here are what the girls think:

1. HANKY/TOWEL
Well, I guess this one is obvious. There isa a saying that when a guy gives you a hanky, hw eill just make you cry. So Boys, never give your girlfriends handkerchiefs or towels on their birthdays/anniversaries. I could consider that as one of the “hindi pinagisipang mabuti” kinds of gifts. Giving that is a big NO-NO UNLESS.. she needs it badly at the moment. Like, you saw her crying or she needs kasi natapunan ng juice yung dress nya and she needs something to wipe it off.. You could lend your hanky to her. I find that gesture really sweet-lalo na if popormahan mo palang si girl.

2. MUG/PLATES
Simply because.. May ganun na sila san bahay nila..So she doesn’t need dining utensils na. Perso syempre, there are exceptions.. According to one girl that I talked to while conducting the survey, If the mug is really really cute like this: (* insert pic*) Then Go..She’ll love it.
Also, Stay away also from personalized mugs and plate..Yung may mga mukha pa nila. Some girls find that corny and cheap. Parang wedding souvenirs lang. These kinds of personalized gifts, I think may be given if you two are already married or if you want to give your parents a little surprise that you can use in your own house.

3. HYGIENE SET
This includes deodorant, mouthwash, toothpaste, toothbrushes and perfumes. Grabe naman. May pambili naman siguro sila nun. You don’t have to buy her that unless they asked you directly. For perfumes, I guess it would be an exception if you are giving her the expensive ones like VS, Lacoste,Bath & Body works. Just make sure it isn’t fake.

4. PICTURE FRAME
This is one of the top hated Christmas exchange gifts of all time. Never give your girlfriend one UNLESS if you pit in there your favorite picture together, a memorable photo of your first date, first out of town trip together, etc. It would also be nice to add a little secret message at the back of the picture.

5. TEDDY BEAR
I was surprise after learning that some girls don’t like teddy bears because they find that as “super gasgas na regalo and parang hindi pinagisipan”. Some said that the reason why they don’t like those is because they are not useful and they are too childish. Know your girl more if she really loves these stuffs and what kinds of teddy bears or stuffed toys she likes.

6. COUPLE SHIRTS
Those lame ones. Yung pang-JEJE. I guess that includes prints which says “I love him/her (with an arrow)”. Be creative. There are lots of cute other couple shirts available out there like those seen in Korean online shops. When designing, It is better to Stay simple like a little “King/Queen” prints.

7. FLOWERS
Not everybody likes flowers. One out of 10 girls doesn’t like flowers because they just dry up and wants his man to be practical than spending a thousand for just a bouquet of roses. Pang-kain nalang daw sana.. But I guess that depends on the type of girl you’re dating.

Here are other stuffs that other girls consider as worse gifts:
8. FOOD THEY DON’T LIKE

9. CLOTHING THAT DOESN’T FIT THEIR STYLE

10. FIGURINES

11. BABY FROM ANOTHER WOMAN

12. BULLSHIT EXCUSES

13. NO TIME

14. GIFT CERTIFICATES

15. DIET PILLS

16. BREAKUP LETTER

17. GOOD MORNING TOWEL

18. PAMPAREGLA

19. REJECTION

20. CHOCOLATES

21. SUYOD

P.S. swear.. Tawa nalang ako ng tawa sa epic answers that I got..

I also asked boys their opinions and here are the WORST gifts they don’t want to receive from their girlfriends:

1. BRIEF/UNDIES
Boys find it awkward. Maybe if you two are already married for a long time, pwede. For now, well.. siguro you could give him other stuffs instead.
But one random guy find this one as a cute gift. (You know who you are. *winks*)

2. HANKY/TOWEL

3. PICTURE FRAME

4.  HYGIENE SET

5. UTENSILS

6. RETURNED GIFTS
It would be really painful if you are giving him a box filled with everything he gave you before just because you two are breaking up. I find it really rude. Better not give him anything than doing that.

7. BRACELET

8. SHIRT or SANDO

9. BALLPEN

10. CASH

11. RECYCLED GIFTS

12. TEDDY BEARS

13. SMALL PILLOW

14. SLIPPERS

15. ALBUM OF A BOY BAND (unless if it is their favourite)

16. For a guy who’s life is dedicated to the military: AMMUNITIONS THAT DOESN’T WORK
WITH ANY OF YOUR GUNS IN THE ARMORY, SWORD THAT BREAKS ON THE FIRST SWING AND GUNPOWDER.

17. HATRED

18. REJECTION

19. PRIDE

20. PAIN

For me, Giving your loved ones NOTHING because you FORGOT the occasion is the WORST . People aren’t choosy and will appreciate EVERYTHING if they truly love you. I know some who even give their BFs and GFs couple underwear just for fun. You just have to explain it to them why you’ve chosen the gift and laugh as much as you want. Always try to give him or her little surprises or if you have a small budget, a little love letter would do. It is the thought that is important. So I guess this entry served as a huge signboard of gifts you should think twice before giving to your loved ones. :)
